A Dark, Twisted Drama with a Unique Style
Khazana ("Treasured') is the first feature film project from the ambitious team at Nik/Nak Productions. Founded by writer/director Rahul Nath - best known for tackling taboo subjects head-on in his hit festival short ‘Foreign’ - Nik/Nak seeks to tell compelling stories in a unique Bollywood / Hollywood crossover style.
Khazana focuses on new bride Vaidehi, who is systematically undone by her husband and his family after an arranged marriage. As she is destroyed, we are drawn into her plans for revenge. A theme of the film, that mental and verbal abuse can be as damaging as physical abuse, resonated powerfully with the cast and crew. Though the characters in the film are of South Asian decent, we feel that these themes are universal.
